Black Bear Season 2026 - Week 1
A Five for Five Start to the Season
Our first group of the year. We managed to avoid the blizzard of the previous week and had a very pleasant hunt week of sits in the trees. The Jogue crew shared hunts with their son and grandsons observing.
Back for the third year in a row, Frank JR and Johnie Blake arrowed bears with traditional archery equipment and Frank Sr took a good bear as well.
Great Weather, Great Food
Maygen was busy keeping the hunters well fed again. From the hearty breakfast to sandwiches and snack for the afternoon hunt, to a delicious home cooked supper after the hunt.
The Bears Stay Active
The Black Bears continue to be active at the baits, day and night. The grasses and leaves are still behind and the bears seem to appreciate the free meals.
