Black Bear Season 2025 Week 1
Our week one started with two hunters, Matt and Tommy.
It was an eventful week, with Tommy arrowing the 16th bear he had encountered on the third day of the hunt a gorgeous black bear.
A new legend of a giant bear (Limpy) was witnessed by Tommy on the first day but unfortunately those giants are giants for good reason and as he was approaching the bait he sensed something wasn’t right and disappeared with a limp. Matt encountered 9 different bears and a Canadian Timber Wolf throughout his week. Unfortunately it came to the last night and the bears were not willing to play that night.
Along with some great hunting either a tornado or plow wind ripped through a small strip in the forest leaving 2 of our stands impossible to access. 5 hours of cutting later we had several mature Pine trees cleared on the 4 miles trail and our baits were refilled with barely a skip in our step.
The bears continue to hit hard with more giants on the prowl for the coming weeks.
